Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born December 7th, 1963, in Edo State in Nigeria. He grew up in a faith-filled family with loving, dedicated parents. He is the youngest son of Elder T.E Oyakhilome. Angelina, one of the early pioneers of the Assemblies, of God Church in Benin City, as well as the matriarch of the Oyakhilome clan.  Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Oyakhilome family, who instilled her divine grace in her son at a very young age.

The LoveWorld ministry is a collaboration between the entire family.  Oyakhilome His brother Reverend Ken, is the esteemed pastor of Christ Embassy's Houston, Texas Church and is a member of the Christ Embassy Central Executive Council, and his sister, KattyWorghiren, is the director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry (LMAM), where there are a number of world-class gospel artists.

Pastor Chris has two daughters: Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Carissa Sharon, who is also known by the name of CSO, has chosen to follow the example of her father, sharing the gospel of God the world. She is a talented, award-winning gospel singer and a member of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Family.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome studied at Edo College before winning a scholarship to study architecture at Bendel State University, known now as Ambrose Ali University, where he obtained an BSc in Architecture as well as an honorary Doctor of Science award. He is also a doctoral honorary from Benson Idahosa University in divinity. It was Ambrose Ali University when he was called by God to become a minister and servant of the Lord.

While he was at university, The Man of God established what would later become one of the largest churches worldwide. He established an informal prayer group called "Youth for Christ" which would later develop into the most renowned organization of its kind on campus. This was also the basis for the future Christ Embassy and LoveWorld Incorporated which has millions of followers across the world.

The LoveWorld ministry was launched under the leadership of Pastor Chris. It is a pioneer in satellite TV, Christian TV production and programming. LOVEWORLDSAT was the first Christian television station broadcasting from Africa throughout the day on free-to air channels. There are LoveWorld television stations on satellite and cable networks across the globe.

Christ Embassy has a strong presence in Pastor Chris's native Nigeria, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. The ministry operates two healing schools located in South Africa.

Music and Gospel Music are an important aspect of the worship. Pastor Chris encourages Christ Embassy Churches that a choir be trained through Loveworld Music and Arts Ministry. Many of these vocal talents will go on to have great solo careers under the direction of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is a committed philanthropist who founded the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation (COFI) an independent, non-profit organization with the mission of helping the most disadvantaged communities and individuals in the poorest regions and countries across the globe.

Alongside proclaiming the gospel, the Man of God also founded a number of NGOs which are tasked with providing essential aid and hope to those who are poor, in need, or forgotten. COFI has five partners who are committed to enhancing living standards in some the most neglected regions.

Under the auspices of COFI are COFI's InnerCity Mission (ICM) for Children as well as the Volunteer Medical Corps (VMC), Trauma Care International Foundation (TCIF), Future Africa Leaders Foundation (FALF) as well as the Bible For All Mission.
